Working definition
Stereotype excellence is the inherited social script of what “being excellent” must look like — hours, grind, poster productivity — that you obey until you unlearn it and write your own score.
How it works
You often chase a memory of performance: what school, family, or industry called excellence. That script can make checkbox days feel like wins while the real goal stalls.
Unlearning is part of the install. Autonomy · freedom · decision quality can be the score — if you give yourself permission. Flight strategies dress old scores as self-care: many boxes ticked, wrong muscle trained.
Social performance vs self-authored score is the fork. Stereotype excellence is the default script on the social side — name it so you can retire it.

Your move this week
- Name one stereotype excellence myth you still obey (hours · visibility · grind).
- Write the self-authored replacement: I know I was performant when ___.
- Run one day that satisfies the new sentence — and fails the old myth on purpose.

Inherited excellence scripts burn self-control on the wrong score; future-self continuity supports rewriting the dictionary.
