Working definition
Every undecided micro-choice is a hidden link in your action chain — pre-decide formats and thresholds so the result-chain can run without paying deliberation tax every day.
How it works
Single point of failure names the fragile step. A decision chain is what multiplies that fragility: each send still asks message or voice? which template? which ask? — and the chain stalls before the lead move.
The install:
- Inventory the micro-choices on the path from intent → first contact → call.
- Pre-decide the expensive ones — format weeks, reply thresholds, template family per profile — so the day only executes.
- Leave variety off the result-critical links — pair with Certainty vs uncertainty needs: determinism on the send loop, variety elsewhere.
Distinction from All Success Lies in Its Preparation: Preparation is the upstream fuel check; Decision chain is the decision surface you freeze so preparation actually ships.
Signature
Pre-decide the format. Run the chain. Do not renegotiate mid-send.

Your move this week
- List every friction on one outreach chain (CRM state · mode · template · ask).
- Circle three that still cost a decision every day.
- Write one pre-decision per circle (e.g. this week = voice notes only) and run it 48h without renegotiating.

Pre-deciding format and thresholds is an if-then plan on the send cue; undecided micro-choices dilute means–goal linkage the same way a pile of half-linked options dilutes drive.
