Working definition
Alpha Milestone is a short, executable stretch (often ~seven days) of minimum viable behaviour, reviewed before you raise the bar — the opposite of Omega Everest-first polish.
How it works
You freeze when the mountain is Omega — train forever for one summit and burn. Alpha inverts the stack: pick one new dynamic, shrink it to a behaviour you can repeat without overthinking, run it for a defined window, then decide — continue, optimise, or stop. The parasite that kills the Decision chain is overthinking the thousand paths; a named minimum frees execution.
Wire to Mithridatisation and The Lean Startup shape: ship the imperfect offer; decorate with feedback after delivery, not in the corner alone. Raising Personal Standards here means giving yourself permission to run the experiment — not permission to wait for polish. Certainty on value becomes a daily calibration while the Alpha runs, not a verdict before day one.
Distinction from Massive action, rapid correction: massive action floods volume; Alpha names the minimum that still counts. Distinction from Personal Standards: standards set the bar; Alpha is the seven-day container that lets the bar move through reps.
Signature
The image is golf-flag by golf-flag — not Everest on day one. Room: 2026-08-10 — Alpha Milestone versus Omega Milestone.

Spatial split — Omega (Everest · polish forever) versus Alpha (seven-day minimum · then review). Your move: Your move this week.
The WOW: Seven days of minimum viable behaviour — then review — continue, optimise, or stop.
Lived chain: cold bath as progressive Alpha — half-full tub → more water → twelve-minute fill timed by phone → NFC tile + iPhone Shortcuts so fill / undress / soak run without thought.
Your move this week
- Name one seven-day Alpha Milestone — minimum behaviour only (photo · text · republish · or one live exchange counts).
- Write the review question for day seven in one line (continue / optimise / stop).
- Run day one before you redesign the system.

MVP / validated learning shrinks the first ship to the smallest experiment that returns signal — decorate after delivery, not before (Ries). Specific challenging goals with feedback outperform vague “do your best” — Alpha is the Club container that makes the goal short, reviewable, and minimum-viable (Locke & Latham).
