Working definition
Tactical stress is adversity you chose, dosed, and timed — so your nervous system learns inside turbulence you orchestrated, not chaos that grabbed you.
How it works
Life throws ambient stress. Tactical stress is the opposite move: you identify the adversity you need for this week’s Battle, you enter it with a stop rule, and you run your checklist when the rep wobbles mid-flight.
Pair with Fortitude — staying with chosen resistance — and Problems at the Height of Ambitions — problems sized to ambition you will admit. Distinguish tactical (chosen, bounded) from visceral fear that freezes before the rep starts (Visceral fear of falling).
Chaos still arrives — breath rhythm, plateau phases, ecosystem gaps. Tactical stress means you generate part of that chaos on purpose (cold shower, approach rep, publish window) instead of only reacting when the room empties or the plateau hits.

Ambient chaos grabs you versus tactical rep — identify, dose, checklist inside shake. Your move: Your move this week.

Name one tactical stress rep: what adversity, what dose, what stop signal, what checklist if fog returns (Victory Journal · vivid vision · one Manual line).
