Working definition
First Principles here means breaking a weak link into the smallest pragmatic friction units before you automate, scale, or blame the stack.
How it works
You often reach for a tool while the problem is still a fog — “montage is hard,” “AI should handle this.” First Principles inverts that: name what actually generates the friction, then attach automation or delegation to a unit you can see. If you never decompose, you cannot attach a tool; you only speed up the same blur.
Wire it to Decision chain: strong links hold; the chain fails at the unnamed weak link. Pair with imperfect checklists and preparation — micro-actions that kill first frictions before the mountain of “publish online.” The Club Zoom ingest is the proof pattern: thirteen named steps once took ~two hours; named then automated → ~ten minutes (AI Orchestrator · One Person Business).
