Working definition
Be You, The Real You are the B1 axis of the 3B Method: the daily practice of perceiving what is true underneath the constructed self, using the body as the primary signal and the future-self as the compass.
How it works
The constructed self is the cumulative answer to who do they expect me to be? It accumulates layers — childhood adaptations, professional roles, relational hooks — until you can no longer easily distinguish a real preference from a learned one.
B1 is the practice of stripping the layers without forcing a destination. The two signals B1 reads:
- The body. The biological signal precedes cognitive narrative. Salivation at imagined lemons. Tightness before a forced yes. Energy after an authentic conversation. The body’s reports are pre-political — they are not arguing, they are reporting.
- The future-self. Closing the eyes, projecting to the last day, asking “what makes me proud?”. The brain cannot distinguish vivid imagination from lived experience, so the future-self answer surfaces values the current-self has been hiding.
Adjacent: Be Your Real Boss (the authority that defends B1), Be Your Own Limits (the limits B1 names), Identity Gap (the gap B1 makes visible), Vivid Vision (the future-self practice), Ikigai (the alignment B1 targets).

The image is the two-version mirror — current-self (today’s roles, fears) versus tomorrow-self (the version you would regret not becoming). B1 is choosing daily which mirror informs decisions — 2026-01-30.
Marie-Christine’s line in the same session: It is not what today-me wants, it is what tomorrow-me wants.

Spatial split — current self (constructed layers) versus tomorrow self (which mirror informs the decision). Your move: Your move this week.

Your move this week
Today’s micro-action (24–72 hours):
- Block 5 quiet minutes today. Close your eyes.
- Project to the last day of your life. Look back.
- Ask: “What makes me proud?” — answer from inside the future-self body, not from current-self analysis.
- Write the answer down. One sentence is enough.
- Identify one decision you face this week. Run it through the future-self filter. Choose accordingly.
