Definition
Intentionality on subtraction means naming what you remove because tomorrow’s version requires the space — not because cigarettes, sugar, or TV happened to become unbearable overnight.
Origin
Contrasts reactive life edits (health scare, move, breakup) with proactive edits driven by a Future self standard.
Mechanism
Reactive removals still work — but leave a gap: you may not know what you gain by removing until you list with intention. One lever at a time (sugar, then milk, then coffee timing) beats simultaneous overhaul failure.
Applications
Weekly prompt: what do I believe I should remove versus what does future-me actually need gone? Log in Manual Of Me.
