Working definition
Your failure strategy is the code you already run that reliably delivers the outcome you say you do not want — often while keeping an identity comfortable.
How it works
You often moralise the miss before they map the sequence. Map deconstruct → select → segment → stack: which moves, in which order, produce the familiar miss (no celebration, over-prep avoidance, engagement over principal work). Once named in Manual Of Me under Saboteur mechanics, you can interrupt the sequence instead of moralising the outcome.

The image is dead nails in the wool — old sabotage patterns still buried in Manual Of Me until the right question pulls them visible. Johan on 2026-04-13, after the weekend XMind pass: thirty seconds on how I actually fail still surfaces gold.
The WOW is the paired failure strategy Yann names on 2026-04-17: no celebration when the rep is only “average,” plus evening self-flagellation when the todo list whispers you should still work — the quality-of-questions drill lands as Did you celebrate?
More room passes mention this doctrine in replay narrative — search the Codex for Failure Strategy or start from the latest entry on Weekly Sessions.

Hidden dead nails versus pulled-visible sequence — name the miss before moralising. Your move: Your move this week.
Your move this week
This week’s micro-action (24–72 hours):
- Open your Manual or a private page titled When I fail, I usually…
- Write three numbered steps — no shame language, only observable moves.
- Read the sequence aloud once — if it sounds noble, rewrite until it sounds familiar.
- Teach the sequence back in one sentence to an empty chair.
- Link one step to this week’s Battle Of the Week — where the failure strategy will fire first.
